Non-Lingerie Outfits for Boudoir
When my clients think of boudoir outfits, a lot of them picture lace, thongs, and straps. Those are definitely staple items to start with, but I am here to tell you it does not have to be a cookie-cutter look. There are so many different ways you can stylize yourself for a boudoir session other than what “everyone else” wears. Let’s talk about non-lingerie and non-traditional boudoir outfits.
Cocktail Dress
The Cocktail Dress is so fun in many ways. It will immediately make you feel feminine putting on your favorite evening dress. Plus, who ever gets to go out in their sexiest little dress anymore? I swear I live in sweatpants these days! LOL. It will give your fave evening wear another chance to shine, and also provide you with a little bit of modesty for your first look of the session if you’re nervous about dressing down. I highly recommend this option if you’re not crazy about lingerie.
2. Button-Up Shirt
I love a button-up shirt for a boudoir session! These are so versatile for many reasons. Colors, styles, layering, coverage (or showing off), and providing multiple looks in one. You can grab a button-up from your partners’ closet, one of your own, or pick one up at the local clothing store. We also have a few in our client closet in white (classic) if you’d like to borrow one.
3. T-Shirt, Tank or Crop Top and Your Favorite Bottoms
A relaxed look that you won’t regret! I love pairing a white tee or tank with your comfy bottoms, whether those are boyshorts, cheekies or a thong. Add some fishnets to make a statement! The most comfy outfit you’ll wear in the studio, hands-down. This outfit will provide some coverage while also creating that “I just woke up like this” sexy vibe. We have tanks and tees in the studio in white and black, but feel free to bring your favorite one from home!
4. Oversized Cardigan or Off-The-Shoulder Sweater
Looking for even more coverage? Try the cozy look out with a big sweater and some thigh-high socks. Make it a whole fall/winter vibe by adding your favorite mug from home and your coziest blanket! I love cozy season. This is perfect for those that want to downplay their midsection and show off those legs!
5. Nothing But A Sheet
The sexiest option on the list is just a sheet! We have a plethora of colors in satin and cotton sheet options in the studio for you to choose from. If you’re interested in posing nude, but would like a little bit of coverage to start, this is such a great choice. We will use the shoot to either keep you covered for implied nudity, or highlight your best features and show off what you really love about your body. Such a great ending outfit for your session and one of my favorites! You are beautiful just as you are and do not need a bunch of clothes covering you up to convince yourself you are.
Whew! Way more outfits than you’ll likely wear in your boudoir session, but now you’ve got some ideas if lingerie isn’t your thing.
